Society has an epidemic. This silent killer has been steadily infecting us, and in recent years it has been peaking with catastrophic numbers. Not only is it hidden in plain sight, it also spreads indiscriminately. What is it? Rock Climbing
I get it; you fucking rock climb. SO DOES EVERYBODY ELSE. Remember when it was lowkey and cool? Yeah, not anymore. Why am I scrolling on my feed and seeing someones memaw wearing a harness? GET HER DOWN! People purchase a membership, and suddenly they are talking about how they’re now doing V4 routes, thinking they can now free-solo El Cap. Newsflash!! You can’t. Additionally, it’s now performative as fuck. If you rock climb in this day and age and started within the last 3 years, you’re fake and masking. I don’t make the rules guys, don’t shoot the messenger. Furthermore, I bet your toes are nasty. Why are we building calluses there to make our feet grippy? It is unnatural and frankly, disgusting.
The moral of the story is that everyone needs to get over themselves and stop being sheep! New slogan incoming: GET DOWN!!!
